BP investors can’t sue over loss in stock since 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill

Bloomberg News (12/6, Fisk, Calkins, 1.91M) reported that U.S. District Judge Keith P. Ellison rejected a class certification for investors seeking to sue BP over loss in the value of BP stock due to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010. “Ellison ruled that the investors failed to show that their damages could be calculated on a class-wide basis in a way that was consistent with their legal theory on BP’s culpability.”
