Appeals Court says Sears must face class-action suit over washing machines

Bloomberg News (8/24, Harris, 1.41M) reports that a Federal appeals court panel ruled that Sears Holdings “must face consumer class-action litigation over alleged washing machine defects,” including complains about “faulty computer control systems” and mold in some Kenmore-branded Whirlpool machines. The company “gained Supreme Court review” for the case, and the court “asked the Chicago panel to reconsider its ruling.” Sears said it would seek such a review again.
