Empanadas voluntarily recalled by New York food manufacturer due to lack of inspection

The Food Safety News (12/5) reports, “Cantina Foods of Buffalo, NY issued a voluntary recall of its Beef and Cheese Pastellios Tuesday after an inspection by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) revealed that federal officials had not inspected the products.” While all meat product production must me supervised by the FSIS, the Food Safety News reports, “No illnesses have been linked to consumption of the product.”
